This course teaches our students how to program game audio using direct sound. The course discuses all the programming skills needed to create a sound track for a video game. 3D Sound is a programming API that let’s programmers makes 3D sound effects and this course is all about 3D Sound.


This is a single course and by itself does not lead to any career path


Grade 12 graduate or mature student status (British Columbia 19 years or older)
Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements.

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to

  • 3D Sound and Direct Sound
  • Use programming to change the volume and frequency of stereo sound
  • Moving sounds
  • Special effects
  • Streaming sounds

Assessment will consist of quizzes, exams, and assignments.

Students must pass the course with at least 60%.
