About CELPIP and CAEL
The CELPIP Test enables individuals to showcase their English proficiency in practical scenarios. It accurately evaluates one's language skills in everyday situations, including workplace communication, interactions with friends, comprehension of news broadcasts, and response to written materials. Both CELPIP and CAEL stand as Canada's primary English language proficiency assessments, serving immigration, academic, and professional certification needs. Simply put, CAEL can be viewed as the academic counterpart to CELPIP, replicating the language requirements found in colleges and universities, encompassing writing, listening, and reading components.
How does it work?
To begin the process, candidates are required to take a free placement test, as well as a reduced fee mock test for $20 CAD, to assess their proficiency in English. Students at the pre-intermediate level and above have the option to join the preparation classes, where they can learn together in the same group. However, if there is a significant gap in proficiency between a student's current level and their desired target, we highly recommend enrolling in ESL, vocabulary, and structural classes prior to joining the preparation programs.
