This course focuses on professional design and craftsmanship, instructs in the production of modern fashion beadwork, with a focus on choosing appropriate materials to achieve unique and professionally crafted jewelry. Classes will alternate between practice and review of proper techniques, and guidance through four complete projects, from planning and visualization, to production, through to finishing.


This is a single course and by itself does not lead to any career path

  • Grade 12 graduate or mature student status (British Columbia 19 years or older)
  • Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements.

Upon completion of this program the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to

  • Be able to identify and select the appropriate technique and materials for the desired results
  • Understand and demonstrate skills in stringing wire
  • Understand and demonstrate skills in beading thread
  • Understand and demonstrate skills in wire working
  • Understand the jewelry production process from planning to completion

Assessment will consist of quizzes, exams, and assignments.

Students must pass the course with at least 60%.
