PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This course will introduce a variety of cords used with knotting used for jewelry, as well as wire wrapping techniques for structural jewelry elements, with a continued focus on choosing appropriate materials to achieve unique and professionally crafted jewelry. Classes will alternate between practice and review of proper techniques, and guidance through four complete projects, from planning and visualization, to production, through to finishing.

  • Understand and demonstrate skills in using cords
  • Understand and demonstrate skills in knotting
  • Understand and utilize a range of wire gauges
  • Understand an advanced jewelry production process from planning to completion
  • Be able to identify and select the appropriate techniques and materials for the desired results
